Timber Floor Gap Filling

Over time a floor may develop cracks or gaps. Occasionally this is the result of an accident; more often, the timber shrinks over time, with gaps appearing between the individual timber planks.
Moisture can be the cause of many floor issues. Timber that expands and contracts with moisture can buckle along the length of the board or cup across the board’s width. This can be remedied by removing the source moisture and re-sanding the floor. Gaps on the bottom are a different matter. These will need to be filled.
Floor Gaps
Gaps in the floor from timber shrinkage cannot be fixed with re-sanding. Holes need to be filled, and occasionally a floorboard will need to be replaced.
